Information we collect

When you visit CruxRead, the hosting and analytics setup gathers standard web server data. That means your IP address, which pages you viewed, when you visited, which browser you were using, and the referring site. None of it is linked to your name.

If you submit a contact form on this site, the form takes your name, email address, and what you typed in the message box. Contact Form 7 handles those submissions. We use it to reply to you and nothing else. You will not be added to a mailing list without saying yes.

Cookies

Sites use a system of small text files called cookies. Your browser stores them when you first visit. On future visits, the site reads those files to recall things about the session or serve relevant ads. Some cookies are required for basic site features. Advertising networks and analytics services add their own.

CruxRead displays advertising through Google AdSense and potentially other third-party advertising networks. These networks use cookies to serve advertisements based on your prior visits to this site and to other websites across the internet.

How we use information

What we collect goes toward understanding site traffic, responding to contact form messages, and serving ads through third-party networks. We don’t sell personal data.

Third-party services

Two third-party services do the most data processing on this site. Google AdSense and DoubleClick handle advertising (their privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy). Contact Form 7 processes the contact form submissions (see contactform7.com). Read their policies to see how each service handles your data.

Data retention

We keep contact form submissions for [HELD — operator decision: data retention period] and then delete them. Server log data is retained according to the terms of our hosting provider. Analytics data is retained according to the settings of the analytics service.

Your rights
